🏝 The Philatelic Era of Khor Fakkan 🏝

🏜 Khor Fakkan is a picturesque coastal town and an exclave of the emirate of Sharjah, uniquely situated on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates along the Gulf of Oman.

📯 In 1965, the postal administration of Sharjah began issuing separate postage stamps specifically inscribed for "Khor Fakkan," distinguishing its mail from that of the main emirate.

📫 Like many Trucial States issues of the era, these stamps were heavily produced by international philatelic agencies. The colorful, topically driven "dunes" issues celebrated themes ranging from space exploration to global sporting events, and were aimed almost entirely at overseas collectors.

⭐ The brief independent philatelic era of Khor Fakkan concluded before the formation of the UAE, leaving behind a vibrant and prolific array of stamps that capture the commercial postal history of the 1960s.

🏝 الحقبة البريدية لخورفكان 🏝

🏜 خورفكان هي مدينة ساحلية خلابة ومدينة تابعة لإمارة الشارقة، وتتمتع بموقع فريد على الساحل الشرقي لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة على طول خليج عُمان.

📯 في عام 1965، بدأت الإدارة البريدية في الشارقة بإصدار طوابع بريدية منفصلة تحمل اسم "خورفكان"، لتمييز بريدها عن الإمارة الرئيسية.

📫 وكغيرها من إصدارات الإمارات المتصالحة في تلك الحقبة، تم إنتاج هذه الطوابع بكثافة من قبل وكالات طوابع دولية. احتفت هذه الإصدارات الملونة ذات الموضوعات المتنوعة، والتي تُعرف أحياناً باسم طوابع "الكثبان الرملية"، بموضوعات تتراوح من استكشاف الفضاء إلى الأحداث الرياضية العالمية، واستهدفت هواة الجمع في الخارج بشكل شبه كامل.

⭐ انتهت الحقبة البريدية القصيرة لخورفكان قبل تشكيل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، تاركةً وراءها مجموعة نابضة بالحياة وغزيرة الإنتاج من الطوابع التي تجسد التاريخ البريدي التجاري في الستينيات.
